Transactional voice calls: automatic reminders and alerts
Transactional voice calls are automatic calls triggered by your system: a payment due reminder, an appointment confirmation, a delivery alert or a voice OTP. They reach people who miss text messages and make sure an important notice is heard. SMSNiti connects the calls to your software through an API and shows you who answered.
These calls carry information the customer expects, not promotion.
- Triggered by your system
- Reminders and voice OTP
- Answer and key-press reports
Overview
What is a transactional voice call?
A transactional voice call is an automated call that delivers information about something the customer is involved in: a due payment, an appointment tomorrow, a parcel arriving, or a verification code read aloud. It is triggered by an event in your system, not scheduled as a marketing campaign.
Short answer: Transactional voice calls are automatic calls for reminders, alerts and verification, triggered by your own system. They carry information the customer expects and do not promote anything.
When voice beats text
A call gets through when a text goes unread: for people who rarely check messages, for older customers, for urgent alerts, and in areas where reading is harder. A voice OTP is also a useful back-up when an SMS code does not arrive.
Responses and escalation
Callers can press a key to confirm an appointment, ask for a callback or speak to an agent. Calls that are not answered are retried, and your system can send an SMS if the call still fails.
